The 23-year-old business administration graduate, Ruth Quarshie was crowned Miss Universe 2017 on Saturday at the grand finale which took place at the National Theatre.

Ruth Quarshie competed against nine other beautiful, smart and intelligent ladies for the crown.
The first runner up went to Herphie Armah, a student of the Ghana Institute of Journalism and second runner up, Emily Randolph also a student of the Ghana Institute of Journalism

The night witnessed the 10 beautiful ladies that were shortlisted before the grand finale. Each of the ten represented a region, This selection was actually based on  training programs and challenges that were held amongst them.

There was a cut off to five contestants as the night drew closer after some mind cracking questions and there after the winners were mention.

I personally wasnt suprised Ruth Quarshie Won because she gave everyone reasons with her communication skills and brilliancy why she had to be the queen. She indeed earned it. She secured for herself a one-year modeling contract with a modeling agency in Italy and not forgetting the brand new luxurious Hyundai Elantra she drove home with.

Miss Universe Ghana 2004 and CEO of MALZ Promotions also the National Director for Miss Universe Ghana, Mrs. Menaye Donkor said the pageant gives the winner best  opportunity to be an ambassador of Ghana, being a reflection of what Ghana has to offer to the rest of the world hence the need for massive support from Ghanaians on all platforms possible.

The event was hosted by Radio personality,Doreen Andoh and the judges include Miss Universe Netherlands (2003), Miss Netherlands Europe(2005),Tessa Brix, Michelle Attoh, Sean Guy and Giovanna Nicole.
